For all work involving collection of human data (electronic or otherwise, including genetic information and cell models), COSYN will adhere to the law established by the European Directive 95/46/EEC, Opinion 8/2010 on applicable law, adopted on 16 December 2010 by the Data Protection Working Party, Directive 2009/136/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council of 25 November 2009 amending Directive 2002/22/EC and to national laws for each participating country. Adequate measures to ensure data protection, confidentiality, and anonymity will be implemented by COSYN partners. Local, national, and international rules on data protection will be followed.
No personally-‐identifying details of COSYN participants will be transferred (except in the unusual situation that such transfer is essential for performing vigilance or tracing in the interest of public health). Data available to COSYN partners include: participant age, sex, general health status, and clinical data. These data are necessary to achieve the scientific aims of COSYN.
